Eastside Projects | The Artist Run Multiverse Summit | Day 1

The Artist Run Multiverse Summit brings together artists and artist run spaces and projects from the UK and Europe to think, talk, eat and sleep together and consider what artist run space is today, what artist run space might have once been, but no longer is, and what it might be in the future. Eastside Projects has invited five spaces, platforms or projects – Kunsthal Gent, Pallas Projects, Rabbits Road Press, Transmission Gallery and The White Pube – to frame this collective, public discussion. The two-day Summit is intended as a starting point for conversation, addressing the environments and ecologies we operate within, the function of artist-run space and the role of artists in the making of culture, community, infrastructure and policy that is responsive to all our needs.

MKCDC at Bradwell Abbey / Angels at the Abbey

    YOU’RE NOT ALONE

MKCDC’s latest community project will see us harness the haunting power of the beautiful song - You’re not alone - by Cathal Smyth (also known as Chas Smash from Madness). We hope to unite families and friends in the UK and abroad who have been kept apart by Covid-19, and who are feeling the pinch of isolation in the current financial crisis. We’ll be working with a diverse range of organisations and schools, bringing together voices from across the community in a massed choir. This will culminate in the live-streamed performance of the song within the grounds of Bradwell Abbey at our annual Angels at the Abbey event with a live youth string orchestra.
