Northumbria University are accepting applications to the Warwick Stafford Fellowship 2015/16 until 5pm Monday 28th September 2015.

Early-mid career practitioners in Fine Art are invited to apply for the fellowship which offers a £20,000 bursary to the chosen candidate.

In addition to the bursary Northumbria will provide the successful Fellow with:

• A studio space in the BxNU Institute for Contemporary Art at BALTIC 39

• Technical Support

• Participation in an environment of postgraduate and PhD art researchers

• Access to leading academics and internationally renowned artists

The Fellowship will offer an early-mid career artist a structured opportunity to advance their practice and research and engage with a stimulating community of professional artists, students, fine art researchers and the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art partners. Support and development will be designed to meet the needs of the individual fellow. The artist will participate in and contribute to the research environment at BALTIC 39 whilst developing a body of new work that advances their practice-led research. New work will be accessible during public events at the BxNU Institute and will form a core part of the exhibition programme in Gallery North, the Faculty’s prestigious venue for contemporary art.

The fellowship will culminate in a solo exhibition with publication.

The current 2014/15 fellowship is held by Laurence Kavanagh. Details of Laurence’s work, along with past Fellows, Eleanor Wright 2012/13 and Luke McCreadie 2013/14 can be seen on the BALTIC 39 website (www.baltic39.com).

How to apply

During selection the panel will look to identify applicants whose practice and research will benefit most from the opportunities offered.

In addition to this application form, applicants should also submit a full CV and evidence current exhibitions/research via URL web links OR by sending up to eight jpeg images totalling no more than 2MB.

Application deadline: Monday 28 September at 5pm

Interviews will be held from Monday 19 October

Residency will begin from Monday 23 November
