Parallel /// Oaxaca and Komplot, Brussels curate Are You Thinking About Atlantis’ presenting works by Aline Bouvy and David Evrard from Brussels and associating with Noah Barker, Thimothy James Kelly and Puppies Puppies from Lodos Contemporáneo (Mexico City / Chicago); Stefan Benchoam from Proyectos Ultravioleta (Guatemala).
The exhibition came together as the experience of a week at Material Art Fair, where our views on the works fled from different directions both in conceptual and physical topologies back and forth from Brussels, Chicago, Oaxaca and Guatemala City. Spontaneous and reactive, this curatorial gesture gives a discreet insight on art scenes from the three continents.
Are You Thinking About Atlantis’ collides the presence of works with a dissolution of discourse with pieces relating to waves, steam, water, smoke, carbonate structures and dispersed scenarios, which may as well dwell into philosophical geometries or remain just as contemplative states towards formal shaping.
